Georges Senga (b. 1983) is a photographer and artist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who lives and works between Lubumbashi, Rotterdam and Zagreb. His practice is a visual inquiry into the narratives that form where individual and collective memory, identity and cultural heritage meet. His projects explore memory embodied in objects and places, tracing the echoes of ideas, events and personal experiences that shape the complex identity of the people of his home country. Through photography, installation and archival research, Senga examines how personal and collective histories shape our understanding of the present.
